Based in Williston, Florida; Shadow Trailers makes aluminum horse, livestock, and living quarter trailers. These extremely popular trailers in the Eastern United States are becoming a great alternative to the high priced custom all aluminum horse trailer market. Featuring Aluminum frames, aluminum skin, aluminum roofs, and aluminum floor (some features on Stablemate models may differ); Shadow Trailers have the quality construction and features found on the much more expensive trailer brands available. The exterior design of every Shadow Trailer model is attractive and functional, while maintaining quality construction and superb fit and finish. From the aerodynamic nose, to the the LED brake lights - a Shadow Trailer is loaded with many standard and practical features. While all Shadow Trailers look modern and attractive, the real beauty is much more than aluminum skin deep. These trailers are built from the ground up for the heavy duty use a horse / stock trailer endures. Starting with large load rated tires, to the wide running boards, conduit protected electrical wires, and the floor / wall / ceiling construction. Shadow uses 4-sided aluminum tubing (compared to 3-sided hat posts) in the vertical wall post, horizontal wall header and roof bow areas to provide strength and good resistance to bending and twisting. Shadow uses even larger, thicker walled tubing in high stress areas. Shadow's roof cove extrusion provides additional strength, has channels for wiring and a flange for securely attaching the single-piece aluminum roof skin. Shadow also uses a substantial frame rail with flanges for supporting the interlocking aluminum floor planks. Shadow floor cross members are 6 inches apart (compared to many other brands using a 12 inch spacing). Plus, Shadow Trailer's floor cross members are integrated into the floor surface. This produces a floor that's quiet as well as strong.
Once inside a Shadow Trailer, you'll see the spacious and comforting interior and that the fit and finish are very good. To protect your horses from extreme temperatures, the white ceiling liner includes insulation as a standard feature. Shadow's Innovative Super Sized Drop Down Windows provide excellent circulation and protection. The walls in the horse area are smooth, and also with standard insulation.
Most of this description applies to standard Shadow models. Shadow also offers their value-oriented Stablemate models that are not quite as deluxe, but are still well made, nicely detailed and well equipped.

On a 16' Aluminum Horse Trailer, there is about 375' of welding in a jig in the aluminum floor alone.
